Kids Love Gaite
Kids Love Gaite, founded in 2008 by Shintaro Yamamoto, bridges London’s subcultural edge with Tokyo’s shoemaking discipline. After formative years in the U.K., studying at Camberwell College of Arts and learning craft at The Old Curiosity Shop, Yamamoto returned to Asakusa to apprentice in Japan’s shoemaking tradition. His shoes carry classic construction disrupted by unexpected forms, reflecting both rigor and rebellion. Produced by Japanese artisans and shaped by collaborations with Comme des Garçons, Kids Love Gaite resists nostalgia, embodying memory, city, and subversion in every pair.
