Takashi Murakami
Contemporary artist Takashi Murakami is today's most sought-after creative, collaborating with the likes of Louis Vuitton and Kanye West. He coined the term "Superflat" to describe a post-modernist art movement characterized by flattened visual forms of Japanese animation and pop culture accompanied by an emptiness of Japanese consumerism. Murakami's art company, Kaikai Kiki, mentors a selection of emerging artists and represent an abundance of artists such as KAWS, Mark Grotjahn, and Anselm Reyle.
Murakami's latest toys and accessories collection are inspired by Japanese "otaku" culture, the Superflat art movement, and his own cutesy flora as showcased in "Cosmos Ball."
