A former protégé at the house of Dries Van Noten, designer Sander Lak launched the debut collection for his label Sies Marjan in Fall 2016. The label's name is a chimera of his father and mother's first names respectively, a testament to the importance of the designer's upbringing and its indelible influence on the nature of his collections—bountiful, vibrant, and globally informed. Based in New York City, Lak brings a comfortable and cultural point of view to the fashion sphere, creating designs that walk the line between thoughtful and complicated, a simple embodiment of balance with no shortage of color.
