Though Kapital brand dons its name from Japan’s “Denim Capital,” in Kojima, Okayama, the brand was initially imagined through designer Toshikiyo Hirata’s fascination with American denim products of the 80s. It is that same fascination for denim and ancestral Japanese design that has morphed into a family affair and propelled Kapital into the forefront of luxury fashion for the last three decades, respectively.

Known for their mastery in the fusion of vintage Americana and heritage production techniques, Kapital continues to elevate and refine their flagship denim workwear and eclectic handicraft garments with each drop. Currently helmed by Toshikiyo and his son Kiro, Kapital has morphed into a highly-revered Japanese heritage brand, offering a vast array of products and styles like expansive patchwork appliqués, in-house dye bath coloring, and native patterns during any given season.
