Kapital is Kiro and Toshihiro Hirata’s lighthearted, satirical take on Psychedelic Americana. The father/son duo are masters renowned for their use of Sashiko and Boro stitching, natural dye processes, experimental washing techniques on distressed and repaired textiles, boiled intarsia knits and developments of new denim techniques like The Century Denim Project. The use of an all-organic production process where Kakishibu persimmons dye-base, indigo, and other natural dyes are implemented lend Kapital a non-pretentious and lighthearted aesthetic. When asked which emotions he wished Kapital would invoke, Toshihiro Hirata simply replies, "Happy, Happy, Happy."
