Y/PROJECT AW2010 - FW24
From its emerging beginnings to its poignant end, Y/Project has been integral to H.Lorenzo's history. Founded in 2010 by Yohan Serfaty and Gilles Elalouf, the brand began with a darker, more introspective vision, rooted in architectural tailoring, artisanal fabrics, and leathers. Its understated avant-garde aesthetic echoed the likes of Carol Christian Poell, Boris Bidjan Saberi, and Julius.
Serfaty’s untimely passing in 2013 ushered in Glenn Martens as creative director, marking a gradual yet transformative shift toward playful subversion and genderfluid experimentation. Having worked with Serfaty in 2009 at his artisanal leather label, Martens honored the brand’s roots while propelling it into the spotlight with intricate pattern-making and a reimagining of wardrobe staples.
After the passing of Elalouf, CEO Pascal Conte-Jodra’s departure, and Martens’s resignation, Y/Project officially closed its doors. However, the Y-shaped mark it left on the fashion landscape will never fade.
