MOLLY GODDARD SS17
Molly Goddard’s SS17 collection’s use of hand-distressed fabrics, voluminous body-forms and offbeat color combinations, together create a collision that captures the designer’s eclectic British heritage. Sheer tulle dresses and frilled skirts are modernized with tightened, upper bodices and raw unkempt edges. Muted hues of black and orange revert the romantic and feminine undertones of the work in an unconventional manner. Asymmetrically cut blouses layer and expand on the body enabling an elegant and functional wear.
MELITTA BAUMEISTER
Melitta Baumeister’s SS17 collection exhibits bold silhouettes defined by graphic sensibility and stark contrasts. The approachable wearability of her works are evident in the minimalist colorway and combination of materials, such as the Signature Coat translates the iconography of her Tumblr page into materiality. By overlaying the starkly cut style of the garment with a modern addition of graphic, minimalist and portrait imagery, the piece stands as a perfect mix of both sacred tradition and the digitally profane.
